EAT! bistro has a menu with about 25% of the items being Gluten-Free. It’s also the only restaurant in Winnipeg that goes all Gluten-Free twice a month, with Gluten-Free pizza, fries, chicken fingers, onion rings, etc. Events like Gluten-Free Valentine’s are booked well in advance, so make reservations.

Although I haven’t personal had a chance to visit Eat! Bistro, I’m looking forward to the experience. I appreciate restaurants who say that can accommodate Gluten-free dining. But Eat goes as far as to clearly label their menu items which are gluten-free. They even say right on their website that they are Celiac-friendly.

(formerly Gluten Wars)

I had posted information about Gluten Wars several months ago. I was just informed by my family in Kingston that there is a ‘new’ gluten-free bakery called The Silly Yak (great play on words, by the way). It turns out this isn’t a new establishment. Rather, the Silly Yak is our old friends from Gluten Wars with a new look, name and location. If you can’t recall my previous post, here’s a recap:

“We’ve all felt like we’re at battle when we go out and try to eat gluten free safely at a restaurant. Well, this gluten free bakery in Kingston has declared war! The Silly Yak (Gluten Wars) is a bakery/bistro dedicated to providing safe, healthy and delicious baked goods to Kingstonians with celiac disease. Breads, pies, cookies, muffins and even pizza! Gluten Wars has it all. Stop in for lunch, or place an order (pick up or delivery). Kingston is quickly making a name for itself in the gluten free baked goods community!”
