Call me strange, but I don’t always feel like getting dressed up to visit a fine dining restaurant to enjoy a nice steak. Outback steakhouse lets Celiacs scarf down some delicious gluten-free beef without worrying about getting your sleeves dirty.
I’ve eaten at various Outback restaurants across Canada and the US, so I’m a bit sad by the recent (March 2009) closures. Yes, it’s true. Outback is no longer in Ontario.
Actually, according to their website, the only remaining Canadian locations are in Edmonton. That’s a bit far for me to drive, but next time I’m there I’ll be sure to stop in to enjoy their gluten-free menu.
A gluten-free menu is available if requested. It is also available online (see link below). There is a warning on the menu, so be sure to ask lots of question.
